FAQs

WHAT IS CHAIR MASSAGE?

Chair massage is the manipulation of muscles in the neck, shoulder, and upper arms. It's ideal for people feeling stress from normal pressures of work or who experience muscle tension from spending hours at a computer. The massage is performed face forward in a rest on ergonomic portable chairs. No disrobing necessary.

HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED?

Typically companies opt for 15 minute massages, but how you utilize the time is entirely your prerogative.

Depending on the event, your budget and how many people you wish to reach you can schedule 10, 15, 20, or 30 minute massages. At a trade show or convention event, the massages can last 5-10 minutes depending on how many folks are waiting.

HOW MUCH SPACE DOES IT TAKE?

Generally a 6X6 area is needed for each chair. Chairs should be spaced about 8 feet apart.

WHERE DO THE MASSAGES TAKE PLACE?

You can do chair massage almost anywhere. In a corporate setting, an office or a conference room works well. Sometimes break out space or less trafficked areas also works. Remembering the 6X6 per chair area is a great guideline.

ARE GRATUITIES EXPECTED?

Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated. Generally 10%-15% is fine.

HOW DO BUSINESSES BENEFIT FOR OFFERING CHAIR MASSAGE?

Companies see a boost not only in morale, but also in productivity and employee retention. This sends the message that the company is invested in their employee’s wellbeing. In turn, employees appreciate the service and the work culture. Additionally, if done on a regular basis, it can be considered part of a wellness program, which Workers Compensation Insurance companies look favorably upon. It’s also 100% tax deductible.

HOW DO EMPLOYEES BENEFIT BY GETTING CHAIR MASSAGE?

Employees love this service. During massage, the body releases dopamine, so they come away with a sense of wellbeing. Stress levels decrease, leaving workers more relaxed, clearheaded, and productive.

WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?

If you are pregnant, that is not a problem. Make sure to tell your therapist at the beginning of the massage, especially in the first trimester when the therapist may not notice.

WHAT IF I HAVE A COLD OR AM GETTING OVER ONE?

If you are sick or have any symptoms, by all means, do not get a massage, and you probably should just stay home all together so you don't risk infecting your co-workers or the massage therapist.

HOW MUCH DOES A CHAIR MASSAGE COST?

We sell our service by the hour, not the actual massage. The price varies depending upon the size of your group and budget. We have a 3 hour minimum.  So, depending upon the number of people you wish to reach and/or budget, you are free to adjust the length of the massages. We charge a $30 set up fee and/or a parking fee. We also include a 2.95% administration fee for services paid for by credit card.

WHAT ABOUT THE THERAPISTS?

All our therapists have been thoroughly vetted and have undergone background checks. Each has a minimum of 500 certification hours of training - many have upwards of 1000 hours and continuing education credits. In addition, the therapists are certified and licensed, are fully insured, and have at least two years of professional experience.
